Marina Doktorman, M.S., L.Ac., is an experienced acupuncturist who obtained her Masters of Acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City in 2001. During her studies, she focused on Chinese Herbology, a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that utilizes herbs to complement acupuncture treatments. Marina is licensed in both New York (NY) and New Jersey (NJ) and holds a Diplomate of Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), indicating her expertise in the field.
To enhance her skills and knowledge, Marina Doktorman has sought guidance from renowned scholars and explored various methods in different countries such as South Korea, Denmark, Canada, and throughout the United States. She has received specialized training in several acupuncture techniques and modalities including Esoteric Acupuncture, Cosmetic Rejuvenation, Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, New Scalp Yamomoto, Acu-Nova, Balance Method, TCM Dermatology, German Auricular Acupuncture, and Neuro-Acupuncture. My experience with Marina's work has been incredible. After the first few sessions, I immediately noticed a decrease in my endometriosis symptoms. It is a full service of treating my back, front body and cupping (it does not feel rushed). I suffer from chronic neck pain from an old injury and go for postpartum symptoms relief. Is there anything I need to do before receiving an acupuncture treatment?
Yes, the following suggestions will help you get the maximum benefits from your treatment.
Maintain good personal hygiene to reduce the possibility of bacterial infection.
To prevent loss, do not wear jewelry.
Wear loose clothing. Ideally, all the closing should be made from natural fibers. Do not have any tight fitting clothes or undergarments that will block energy flow. Women should not wear one-piece dresses. Avoid wearing tight stockings.
Avoid treatment when fatigued, hungry, full, or emotionally upset.
Is there anything I need to do while receiving acupuncture?
1. Relax. There is no need to be frightened. Ask your practitioner any questions you have along the way, so that you can get the most benefit possible from the treatment.
